The Floating Studio is a new artist-run public art project in Helsinki, currently in progress. The floating studio, planned to the shore between Kalasatama neighbourhood and Mustikkamaa island, will be a working space of the two visual artists. It will also function as a gallery and a venue of different art and culture events. This blog gives an overview of the process of the construction of the studio, and the activities/events taking place there.

Working with the containers
At Vuosaari Harbour, the construction of the Floating Studio has continued. The sea containers, which the studio will be based upon, are cut and welded.
For the construction, six 13,5 x 2,65 x 2, 75 m containers is used.
